About Me

The Story behind the Analyst - curiosity, code and a love for data.

Prakash Sai Alla

PRAKASH SAI ALLA

I'm a Business Analytics graduate student at UMass Amherst and I genuinely believe data is the closest thing we have to a superpower. My journey started with an undergrad in AI & ML, where I fell in love with the idea that patterns hidden in numbers can solve real world problems. Since then, I've built predictive models, automated ETL pipelines, designed dashboards and shipped analyses that move the needle - not just look good in a slide deck.

Just for the Data of It

Because analysts analyze everything - including themselves

Spent 3 hours debugging a model only to discover I'd been training on the test set. The model was great. My confidence was not.

Built a Spotify listening dashboard just for fun - turns out I listen to the same 3 playlists on a loop. Variety score: 0.04 out of 10. Comfort score: 10 out of 10.

Ran a linear regression on study hours vs. grades last semester - R² = 0.81. Effort explains 81% of outcomes. The other 19% is clearly Wi-Fi quality.

Tracked sleep hours vs. next day productivity. Below 6 hours, my StackOverflow search rate triples. Data doesn't lie - but sleep deprived me absolutely does.

During deadline week my browser hits 30+ open tabs. Around 10 are actual docs, 8 are StackOverflow and at least 3 are the exact same page opened twice.

Built a full Tinder & Bumble analytics dashboard after running out of ideas - tracked swipe rates, match ratios, and response times. The data was conclusive: the algorithm needs work. So does my bio.
